When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. LA’s talker did just that (well not literally) and put out a quarantine made music video for her appropriately titled song “Personal Space“!
We’re currently verging on month 3 of quarantine and it feels like we’ve been living the same day over and over and over again. Time is clearly an illusion. With being stuck inside for so long, it’s almost impossible not to feel stir crazy. If you’re one of the chosen few who are living their best lives in quarantine, we envy you.
But we cannot deny that out of feeling reckless and creatively frustrated comes some of the best art and projects we’ve seen so far in 2020. This brings us to LA based grunge pop artist talker who has managed to make something so engaging out of such an unfortunate period in our history.
“Personal Space” comes off her debut EP, Wax, and the song itself is about talker singing to her own head. She explains “Just trying to get some personal space from the chaos in my mind, and have a moment of silence to feel some sort of peace. Obviously, that’s a bit harder now, and we’re all feeling it. So it feels particularly poignant.” And we could not relate any harder!
The video itself is designed and filmed to fit the specs of your phone because let’s be honest, we are more attached to our phones now more than ever. The video is personal and intimate in ways we can all relate.
