Warbly Jets Tour China And We Gave Them A Camera To Prove It
tour diary

Warbly Jets are an LA based foursome who are currently making their way up the ranks in the rock scene beyond the boarders of the City of Angels.

The boys have been pretty busy since gaining exposure right out of the gate with their single, “Alive” premiering on Matt Wilkinson’s Apple Music Beats1 radio with his praise “Gutsy, melodic and catchy-as-hell.”  They hit the road playing all around the UK and Europe with dates that included a London residency, a Paris performance at David Lynch’s Club Silencio, an event during Milan Fashion Week and will end the year supporting Liam Gallagher for a handful of shows.  Having found a footing with fans in China, the foursome made their way to the other side of the world to support their debut self-titled album in person, and we gave them a camera to prove it.

We got the deats from the guys on how to navigate China all while playing killer shows.

What was the weirdest thing you ate in China?
WJ: Julien and Dan ate pig brains. That took the cake. Someone else got some sort of seafood pizza that was absolutely disgusting. Most of the traditional Chinese food was delicious though.

Best cup of coffee you drank there:
WJ: It had to of been in Shanghai at this American breakfast spot we found the last day in China. I never really found coffee at any of the Chinese restaurants we went to.

Favorite beer in China:
WJ: Tsingtao. They’re totally cool with drinking In public and all the beers have a very low alcohol percent.  At least one of us was drinking beer at basically any point in the day, morning till night.

What was the meal you ate the most?
WJ: Rice!

Any green room must haves?
WJ: Blue American Spirits, Jameson, PBR, hummus & chips, meats & cheese plate, veggie plate.

How do the clubs of China compare to the clubs in the states?
WJ: The staff was consistently much much nicer and happy actually doing their job than most of the venue staff we’ve worked at venues in the states.

How did you handle the language barrier?
WJ: We had a translator traveling with us.

Were you able to pick up some Chinese as the tour went on?
WJ: Yeah, small amounts. You start to recognize some of the same phrases  being said a lot and pick up on them.

What were some of the apps you relied on most?
WJ: Google translate.
