Video Premiere: “Middle of the World” by Flights Over Phoenix

A cross country move, a craigslist ad and a mutual friend — this is how Flights Over Phoenix was born. In a relatively short amount of time, the three piece has built a sizable following with their combination of pop hooks, anthemic production and emotional balladry. Their video for single “Middle of the World” takes that same catchy mix and inserts a bit of humor. On the song’s meaning and making of the video, the band says:

“Middle Of The World” is a song that explores the feelings of isolation through imagery that one might experience in a dream of that nature. In writing the song, we wanted it to feel like a journey, and so we wanted the music to be up-tempo and have a lot of movement.”

It was great working on the video with Eric McCoy and Justus Meyer. We wanted the video to touch on the feelings of isolation within the lyrics but to have a positive undertone of exploration and hope. They really struck a great balance and we love how it came out. Their whole crew was very professional and it was an absolute pleasure working with them.

Their debut EP Where I Comedown is out now. Watch the video for “Middle of the World” below:
