Video Premiere: “Noose” by Sc Mira
video premiere

Composing roughly 99% of all recorded music, the love song needs a bit of reinvention to avoid becoming the cliché and tired genre we all know.

With their new single, “Noose,” Sc Mira do just that — compose a song that reconciles both the light and dark side of love.

“Noose is a love song. It’s about being tied to someone in every way, but also feeling trapped knowing how bound and dependent you are. There’s undying commitment and bitterness in it. It looks at love the way no one wants to — the way that’s severe and lonely and part of a system.

The video for the song features a character now familiar to Sc Mira fans: the “Blob.” We’ve seen this in their recent video work, and it makes a return, serving as an ideal avatar for both performer and listener. “Noose” is the latest single off of the band’s forthcoming Drug Warm Coma EP, out 4/20.
