Jack White, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Eminem, and more soundtrack this year’s Governors Ball.
Before you wallow in day-after-three-day-weekend sadness (it’s a thing), we have good news: you’ve only got a few more days until Governors Ball!
The music fest will put your Memorial Day picnic to shame, thanks to another deliciously curated foodie lineup (Sam’s Fried Ice Cream, Salt & Bone, Korilla BBQ, Coolhaus, Sweet Chick).
And of course, the music! We’re so excited for Friday night with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Jack White playing back to back.
There’re also must-see early sets from Middle Kids, Moses Sumney, Kali Uchis, Margo Price and Cuco. Chvrches play on Sunday afternoon and just released their latest album Love Is Dead. We can’t get enough of their song “My Enemy” with an assist by Matt Berninger from The National. James Blake recently did a sick remix of Moses Sumney’s “Make Out in My Car” and both are on the bill, so we’re praying for a cameo at one or the other’s performances. Another collab we’re planning to check out is the recently announced Silk City comprised of the ever-evolving Diplo and Mark Ronson. We like the old school house vibe so far on “Only Can Get Better.” Other bands we love seeing again and again are Dirty Projectors, Sylvan Esso, Japandroids, Cut Copy, and Manchester Orchestra.
And Eminem to close out the fest.
So pick your head up off your desk and get tickets if you haven’t yet. If you can’t make it, follow along on our Instagram and Twitter.
Governors Ball happens Friday, June 1 through Sunday, June 3. More info at governorsballmusicfestival.com.
