Monique Gilbert – VP Account Management and “Celebrating the Larry David in all of us”
recommends: Sqirl

“I know this is nothing new/novel, but when in LA Sqirl x a million.”

Gigie Hall – Editorial Director and “resident outdoor dirtbag”
recommends:  Suicide Rock Trail

“This past weekend, I took a trip up to Idyllwild for a weekend of fresh air, really good Italian food and a late night marathon of Naked and Afraid. But the highlight was the 7 mile out and back hike to Suicide Rock. The trail was littered with snow, barely any people, and a great view of the San Jacinto wilderness once you reach the top.”

Leah “I got a guy for that” Hobbs – Artist Relations

“Live show: Wilderado at the Bootleg on Thursday at 9PM (Free Show)
Book: As Bright As Heaven by Susan Meissner
Music: Mass Hysteria EP by Spiritual Cramp”

Megan “McCredes” McCredie – Project Manager
recommends:  HBO’s Crashing

“Second Season of HBO’s Crashing!”

Alan Miller – Founder and “Portland Pickles #1 fan”
recommends:  National Lacrosse League

“Because who doesn’t need another sport in their lives.”

Wes Martin – Marketing and “is not watching Pawn Stars right now, he promises”
recommends:  “Lazy Bones” by WITCH

“This is a track, a band, and a genre, that I just discovered this week. WITCH were a part of the Zamrock movement – a genre that emerged in Zambia during the 70’s which fused African music with psych and funk. A comp for the band came out in 2011 (WITCH: We Intend To Cause Havoc!) which gives you a really nice retrospective of the band and their tunes. I am really digging on this track, “Lazy Bones.” There’s really nothing not to love about this. You’re welcome.”

Gillian Driscoll – Editorial Assistant and “Resident pop culture maven and Harry Styles fan”
recommends: Blue Madonna by BØRNS

“I’ve been anticipating the release of BØRNS’ sophomore effort and seeing how he’d follow up 2015’s flawless Dopamine. Blue Madonna shows off a bit edgier BØRNS with solid guitar riffs and groovy bass lines thrown into his electronic pop landscape. It’s BØRNS dialed up a notch.”

Richard Pace – Business Development Director and “Seeker of Anything Fun”
recommends:  12 Strong

“I’m super excited to check out 12 Strong this weekend. I’ve read a handful of books detailing the “first in” after 9/11. While all important and incredible, I was truly blown away by the Horse Soldiers.”

Robben Barquist – Intern and “Resident Dungeon Delver”
recommends: Active Minds

“I’ve been looking forward to the Active Minds show happening at Five Star Bar this Saturday (1/20).  It is going to be the legendary UK punk band’s first time in LA so I’ve been getting pumped for it by spinning their classic EPs You Can’t Close your Eyes to the Horrors of Reality and Capitalism is a Disease and Money an Addictive Drug. Apocalypse, Flesh Trade, Wholesale Murder, and End Result will be providing local support for the show, all for a cool ten bucks. It should be a total rager, not one to be missed!”
