Sounds of Sundance 2018: Tenille Townes

We have our neighbor to the north to thank for our next artist in the Sounds of Sundance series. Tenille Townes is originally from Canada, but has since moved to Nashville to perfect her sound. Below, even more about the songbird who won Female Artist of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Awards.

Describe your sound in three words.
Story. Belonging. Encouraging.

What’s your favorite F-word?

Song you can never get out of your head?
“At Last” – Etta James!!

Any pre-performance rituals?
Warm up and a prayer! And dance parties are always fun too.

Last thing you ordered at a drive-thru?
Coconut Milk Chai Tea Latte.

One film you want to see at the fest?
“What They Had.”

One thing you’d like to change about your industry?
Postures of scarcity.

One thing you’d never change about your industry?
The love of the art of stories through songs and the way they remind us we are inextricably connected.

What’s next for you?
I’m so very excited to get some new music out there soon!
