Gringo Star’s “Easy” is a Nostalgic First Taste of New Album

I think it’s fair to say we could all use a little slice of escapism, and Gringo Star’s first single off their new album does just that.

Transporting listeners to the edge of neo-psychedelic territory, and laced with a vintage string section, it’s the perfect sonic combination to pull anyone out of a rut. Speaking of strings, Peter Furgiuele from the band says:

“We really didn’t know exactly what we were gonna do when we got our buddy Dave to add some string melodies we had thought up for the song. We kind of hummed it out for him as best we could and when we heard the playback we were blown away and at that point we pretty much got him to play on every other track on the album.”

The rest of the track is led by pulsing keys, giving it that ‘60s pop vibe, while the vocals fully delve into our collective Beach Boys era nostalgia. The perfect opener for the approaching season, it’s a feel-good tune with just a sprinkle of something sad, fully capturing that salty-sweet feeling of days slipping by in the summer heat.
