Shlomo Franklin has found his voice. The New York based singer has compiled an EP full of tender melodies due for a May 18th release.
The album leads with his recent single, a sweet track titled, “Don’t Love Anybody.” The folk tinged track is driven steadily by a soft beat and acoustic plucking, as string and electric guitar parts join in to help Shlomo plead for devoted love and loyalty. He manages to do so with a textured and weathered sound leading the way: “I can take the empty bed, the dreams of you in my head. I can take most anything, but I’ve just one request: Please don’t love anybody else.”
It’s clear his devotion is strong, not only to the love he references but to the music as well. Growing up in rural upstate New York, Shlomo lived in a Hasidic Jewish community with most time spent working on the family farm. With bigger dreams, Shlomo set off down a more creative path and hasn’t looked back.
