We caught up with emerging Toronto band Honors straight off the release of their newest single, “Say Yes”. Consisting of four multi-instrumentalists these guys are putting a modern twist on old school R&B and killing it. With only two singles on the board the boys are catching some ears with over 7.4 million Spotify spins on their first track “Over” and the video isn’t doing too shabby either. Cutting their teeth with two headlining shows in LA and NYC in preparation for festival dates it seems like Honors have a pretty sweet summer ahead of them. Did you say you wanted to win tickets to their LA show? Weird because you can do that right here.
Snapchat or IG?
Googlemaps or WAZE?
Google Maps. Driving like WAZE is having a bossy, OCD backseat driver.
Tinder or Bumble?
Both. You’re on an app that shows you thousands of people; why would you just want to use one?
Best city to Tinder/bumble.
Depends on the city.
Who is the tour bus DJ in the band?
Cameron; always hip hop and R&B.
What is your favorite city to play?
We’re about to play our first shows as Honors. We have Stockholm, New York and Los Angeles, so we’ll see.
How much of your new album was written on the road?
The music we’ve written so far has been between LA and Toronto.
Are there any cities that inspire you musically?
We can be inspired by anywhere that we are.
To Poutine or not to Poutine?
If it’s late at night, always poutine.
Best poutine in Ontario:
Trick question; best poutine is in Quebec.
Best cup of coffee:
The kind that comes in a Red Bull can.
Favorite venue in Toronto:
Favorite late night haunt:
Wherever the after party is. Usually someone’s kitchen.
Best Canadian beer:
The clear kind, that comes in a big bottle — no wait, that’s Vodka.
Best thing to come out of Canada, besides Honors:
Drake, Weeknd, Lorne Michaels, Neil Young, Jim Carrey, Mike Myers…it’s a long list.
