Every year that GIRLSCHOOL rolls around, the lineup just keeps getting better and better.

The Collide crew has been covering this LA fest from the beginning and we’re stoked to see what’s in store at the Bootleg this weekend. As the name suggests, the three day fest is entirely made up women-identified artists, highlighting the  prevalent lack of all female bands in mainstream festival lineups and culture. While the “women in music” topic often elicits exasperation, GIRLSCHOOL moves beyond the generic tokenization that the music world so often spews, and instead focuses on community building, representation and inspiration.

The lineup features Shirley MansonCarrie Brownstein in conversation with poet Morgan ParkerKristin Kontrol + The KidsJay SomMerebaAmber CoffmanBoyfriend, and many more. Plus don’t miss out on conversations, workshops, poetry and art installations with Whitney Bell, Ashlee Marie Preston, Vera Papisova, MUNA, Dejha Ti, Elise Mesner and so much more. Net proceeds benefit WriteGirl.Org. Individual lineups below. See you there!
