Singer/songwriter RIVVRS releases his music video for “Don’t Give Up On Me,” an emotive single that takes listeners on a journey toward salvation.
The Los Angeles based singer bares his soul on the confessional ballad, about unraveling and finding one’s way back to the light.
“Don’t Give Up On Me” was inspired by a period of anxiety and depression that Brandon Zahursky (RIVVRS), endured and overcame. “I wrote the song about that period of time. About feeling hopeless and just wallowing in guilt and anguish,” he says. The anguish can be heard in RIVVRS velvety emotion-laden vocals.
The music video for “Don’t Give Up On Me” further highlights this inner struggle and finding hope and peace in moments of despair. “I really wanted to portray the feeling of isolation, which is why we chose Joshua Tree to shoot,” says Brandon. “Having my hands tied together is meant to show the feeling of helplessness. Because the song is meant to be more hopeful, by the end of the video, the ropes have been turned into lights. It represents the change I felt as I started to get out of that depression; and the realization that even in the darkest moments, you can find some light.”
“Don’t Give Up On Me” is off RIVVRS upcoming record, Cosmic Dream slated for release in the Spring of 2018. The singer just wrapped a major tour with The National Parks.
