Salt Lake City slacker rock quartet oh!no?ok. deliver snarky punk gem, “saw her first”

You might not expect Salt Lake City to be the birthplace of the next punk rock trailblazers, but Utah-based trio oh!no?ok. certainly make for a convincing candidate. Their ridiculously cool, nonchalant pop punk nuggets are packed with humor and snark, coming off as both off-the-cuff and fully realized.

We are pleased to be premiering the lead-off single, “saw her first,” which is lifted from their fearlessly catchy debut, randy warhole (or somethin). The track bristles with the kind of fresh-faced, scruffy fuzz pop that has made FIDLAR a household name, finding its footing through a similar blend of charismatic lead-vocals and and sharp, tongue-in-the-cheek hooks. The single is just one of twelve raw, skate-punk anthems which explore the joys and sorrows of being young, gifted, broke, and way too clever for your own good.

Clearly this is band that is not interested in putting on any pretensions about where they come from and who they are, and the candid insight they allow listeners feels aligned to classic 90’s alt-rock innovators such as Weezer, Pavement, The Presidents of the United States and Butthole Surfers. “Our music is, in part, a commentary on issues such as entitlement, pride, drug abuse, video game addiction, online persona management, and idolization,” lead singer Ryan Osborn reflects, shining a light on the apathetic tendencies of his generation. “But the primary theme is how we often take the first step in recognizing that we struggle with these issues, but we lack the motivation to actually fix our problems.”
