PREMIERE: Jimkata unleashes their bold new visuals “Wanna Go”

After a couple year hiatus, three-piece electro-rock outfit Jimkata are back with the luminous, synth-infused “Wanna Go.” The eccentric single highlights mellow harmonies floating atop vibrant melodies and driving basslines delivering the perfect funky, feel-good offering.

Detailing the negative effects that can result from social media, the track examines online appearances and how they can depict a distorted reality. Evan Friedell confides, “It took on an extra layer of meaning for us after the pandemic began and we all started quarantining, stuck in our houses and apartments, staring into our phones, longing for a different world and becoming overly acquainted with our immediate surroundings.” The surreal visuals bursting with color seamlessly fit the song’s message by taking viewers on a journey of alternate worlds, each almost the same yet somehow altered. This illustrates the need people feel to alter ourselves to fit our internet personas and the damage that can occur from that.

Friends since childhood, Evan Friedell, Aaron Gorsch and Packy Lunn makeup Jimkata. Recognized for their quirky finesse and a knack for storytelling, the musical collective concocts lush, warm breezy sounds that ooze with opulence. Check out their bright new visuals below.
