Tim Williams, formerly of the LA band Soft Swells, is back with a new solo endeavor, IF CLIMBING.
Back in June, Williams released the debut single, “The Good Parts,” and is now following that up with “Than I Was Before,” out on September 6th via Modern Outsider. To celebrate the release of the first single, IF CLIMBING played a club show in LA, immediately followed by an opening slot at the famed Stubb’s Amphitheater in Austin, Texas.
In early 2019, Williams decided to start fresh with this new project and set out to write songs inspired by the Brit-pop tunes he was obsessed with growing up. After writing the songs on acoustic guitar, he teamed up with producers that he felt would give the project a totally different feel than anything he had created in the past. He found those partners in Absofacto and Rob Flynn.
To commemorate the release of the second single, “Than I Was Before” (produced by Rob Flynn), IF CLIMBING will be playing at The Satellite in Los Angeles on September 9th as part of the Talk Time September residency, presented by COLLiDE and KROQ.
