Tampa Riverwalk is an open space and trail development along the Hillsborough River. The downtown Tampa portion travels alongside the Tampa Arts District and includes Curtis Hixon Park, The Macdill Park, the Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum, Rivergate Tower and the Florida Museum of Photographic Arts.
Fort De Soto park consists of 1,136 acres made up of five interconnected islands. These keys are home to beach plants, mangroves, wetlands, palm hammocks, hardwoods and scores of native plants.
The 11.6-acre downtown waterfront park hosts yearly events including St. Petersburg’s Ribfest, Tampa Bay’s Blues Festival, Christmas displays and various other events such as art festivals, concerts, and triathlons.
Ybor City is a historic neighborhood in Tampa, located just northeast of downtown. It was founded in the 1880s by Vicente Martinez-Ybor and other cigar manufacturers. For the next 50 years, workers in Ybor City’s cigar factories rolled hundreds of millions of cigars annually.
The Straz Center is located downtown on a 9-acre site along the Hillsborough River. As the second largest performing arts complex in the Southeastern United States, the 335,000-square-foot venue hosted a Broadway series, opera, concerts and more.
