LISTEN: Wallows release anticipated quarantine-made EP “Remote”
editorial

The EP released on Oct. 23, 2020 and comes after the release of singles “Nobody Gets Me (Like You)” and “Virtual Aerobics” earlier in the fall.

Wallows rose to further heights in the alternative scene this summer with their hit single “Are You Bored Yet?,” which featured a verse from celebrated indie artist Clairo and went platinum earlier this year. After much anticipation from fans, Wallows are back with Remote, a six track EP that features both of their previously-released singles “Virtual Aerobics” and “Nobody Gets Me (Like You).”

When asked about the effect of the year’s quarantine had on the album, Wallows said, “’Remote is a special project for us. We finished it all without seeing each other in person by sending each other voice memos and spending hours chatting on FaceTime.

“Though the lyrics don’t reflect on or reference our time staying at home, the music wouldn’t have turned out the way it did if not for quarantine.”

All of the songs on Remote were produced by Sachi DiSerafino, John DeBold and Wallows, with the exception of “Nobody Gets Me (Like You),” which was produced by Ariel Rechtshaid. Rechtshaid is known for his work with Vampire Weekend and HAIM.
