On October 23, Drax Project and Fetty Wap released a smooth new single featuring syncopated jazz beats and an R&B twist that strays from Drax’s past perceived image, delving into a more mature chapter in his career.
The “Woke Up Late” quartet Drax Project toured alongside Camila Cabello in 2018 for the European leg of her tour and alongside Christina Aguilera for her 2019 European concert tour. In January of 2019, they released a new chart-topping version of their hit single “Woke Up Late” featuring the amazing Hailey Steinfeld, with youtube sensation Liza Koshy starring in the feel-good music video for the track. Today, the video has amassed more that 22 million views — the song reaching over 106 million streams on Spotify.
“After a crazy year, the four of us are stoked to be releasing new music. We’ve been itching for a while and feel like now is the right time to show the world where our musical heads are at. Being able to team up with Fetty is the absolute icing on the cake” -Drax Project
Fetty Wap, the artist behind the diamond certified song “Trap Queen” and certified Platinum and debut album Fetty Wap 3X Platinum, contributes to “Firefly” with his classic, unique vocal style. His distinct “yeah baby” rings out underneath the track’s chorus, gluing the song together with rap elements that compliment Drax Project’s sound.
