las vegas

It goes without saying that Las Vegas’ 24 hour lifestyle is unlike any place else with bars, clubs, casinos and more, catering to every whim and desire at any time of day. Be sure to hit up some of these nightlife staples to experience all Vegas has to offer. Check out our full Las Vegas travel guide here.

Velveteen Rabbit (Recommended by Jessica Manalo)

Nestled in the downtown Arts District, this cocktail lounge has a little bit of everything. Owned by sisters Pamela and Christina Dylag, Velveteen Rabbit features delectable craft cocktails and beer, Victorian style vintage decor, an outdoor patio with live music, and even a gold meditating rabbit.

“They are always changing it up and coming up with new delicious cocktails. I couldn’t pick a favorite.” – Jessica Manalo

Ellis Island Casino (Recommended by Escape The Fate)

Side-step the massive hotel casinos and experience the thrill of gambling the way locals do at an old school haunt. Ellis Island Casino, a local’s favorite since 1968, has its own brewery, games, karaoke and some of the best BBQ in Vegas.

“You don’t see [these casinos] in movies and TV. As locals, that’s where we go to eat and enjoy a Friday night without the idea of it being “Vegas” the way the rest of the world sees it. They’re scaled down versions with people who are chilling and having fun, as opposed to people who are getting out years worth of pent up energy.” – Escape The Fate

Bunkhouse Saloon  (Recommended by Jessica Manalo, Ronald Corso)

Established in 1953, this cowboy-themed mainstay is considered one of the best music venues in town. Locals loyally frequent Bunkhouse for their simple drinks, down home fare, and live music selection from acts both established and emerging. Staple menu items include sloppy joe’s, grits and gravy, and ice cream sandwiches. Choose from an ample selection of beer to wash it down.

Tacos & Beer (Recommended by Mark Stoermer)

This bustling eatery is your go-to for elevated street tacos and refreshing lagers. The bar is overseen by one of the few second level cicerones (beer certification) in Las Vegas, and offers 20 rotating beers on draft including exclusive selections you won’t find anywhere else in town. As far as the tacos are concerned – slow-braised meats and vegetables are the specialty along with made-to-order fresh corn masa tortillas.

The Golden Tiki (Recommended by Angela Jayden)

This Tiki lounge is the real deal, serving hand-crafted Tiki Drinks made with fresh squeezed juices, and home-made syrups. Branden Powers, The Golden Tiki’s managing partner, is a Las Vegas veteran who’s been sharing his love of Tiki culture with the public for over 20 years through venues, DJ nights and more. His record collection, at over 15,000 records, is one of the most extensive Exotica collections in the world. Come for the music and featured DJ’s along with the drinks. Marky Ramone has even hit the record booth in the past.
