Culture Collide and The Hi Hat present Gringo Star Wednesday Sept. 19

Indie rock group from Atlanta Gringo Star are playing at The Hi Hat in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Sept. 19.

Brothers Peter and Nick Furgiule, Josh Longing and Mario Colangelo don’t follow the traditional rules of indie rock, “they just pick up their instruments and go,” as their bio states. “We simply make what we want to hear,” says Nick. The Gringo Star sound blends garage rock with 50’s blues and somehow it works harmoniously. Past albums have demonstrated this with works like All Y’all (2008), Count Yer Lucky Stars (2011), and Floating Out To See (2013). In 2016, they evolved musically with The Sides and Inbetween, in which they step up – with a little bit more rock ’n’ roll. The single “Easy” – with its breezy vocals, matching beat and clean guitar sound – doubtlessly displays this evolution.

The band will take the stage at The Hi Hat in Los Angeles Wednesday, Sept. 19, at 8 p.m.  Check out the event on Facebook and buy tickets to see Gringo Star at The Hi Hat here .
