Thorp Jenson makes music for drinking Buds at the local dive bar. The Richmond-based guitarist combines the everyman ethos of heartland-rockers Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen with the down-home honkey-tonk of the South’s rich music culture to create a sound that bounces with an up-beat boot-stomp, but is unafraid to touch on honest emotion. Jenson draws greatly from the American blues tradition, especially in his focus on storytelling. Thorp crafts tales of archetypal characters that feel mythical yet relatable in a way only a genuine blues-man can.
