The Teskey Brothers

The Teskey Brothers are a young four-piece from Melbourne, Australia who have been winning over hearts and minds with their infectious and emotionally-mature take on classic Motown-style Soul and R&B.

“The natural landscapes of Melbourne and surrounds can definitely be heard in our music. The Teskey Brothers certainly identify with the Australian bush environment found all over Warrandyte. The city itself is a melting pot of a lot of different cultures and ideas. That feeds into our music in a subtle way too. We draw inspiration from so many other Melbourne bands. All doing interesting things and pushing the boundaries.”  —  The Teskey Brothers

North Fitzroy
"It's a central place with good access to the tram lines so you can get around easily. That area has loads of great cafes, restaurants, parks, shopping and live music venues all within walking distance. Best part of town by far."  —  The Teskey Brothers

Tote Hotel
"I love the Tote Hotel in Collingwood. It has been a live music venue since the early 80’s (my dad played there in bands when he was young). They have live music in the back band room, upstairs and sometimes in the front bar. It's gritty, the carpet is very sticky and it attracts a mixed crowd of Melbourne musicians and fellow misfits seven days a week."  —  The Teskey Brothers

Warrandyte
"I find my hometown of Warrandyte to be the most inspiring and naturally beautiful part of Melbourne. It’s a 35 minute drive north east from the city ( take bus 906). It has the Yarra river flowing through it (great for a swim and a picnic) framed by mighty gumtrees. Warrandyte was one of the earliest places where gold was found so it’s got a lot of cultural history. These days it’s known for the strong arts community. All four members of The Teskey Brothers grew up here and we still spend a lot of time in the area. Recently we shot a video for our song ‘Louisa’ in Warrandyte which was a lot of fun."  —  The Teskey Brothers
