The Seshen

The Seshen is a collaborative effort led by Bay area-based lyricist/vocalist Lalin St. Juste and bassist/producer Akiyoshi Ehara, with a number of talented local musicians filling out the ranks.  To pigeonhole The Seshen into a single genre would be doing them a gross disservice, as they have carved out a niche all their own, but the mélange of St. Juste’s powerful vocals, Ehara’s textured production, live and programmed percussion, and vintage synth melodies put the band somewhere between neo-soul, synth-pop, and trip-hop.  This unique mix of seemingly disparate sounds has earned The Seshen both critical and popular acclaim since their formation in 2012, and the continued maturation of their sound promises a bright future for these gifted artists.

"They've been going strong for 25+ years since it was a guy at a table in an Indian grocery store serving pani puris. It stopped being a well-kept secret years ago, but the food is still as delicious as ever. Get the Chole Bhatura - a giant sphere of puffy floppy deep fried goodness!"  —  The Seshen
