Ro Ransom

Ro Ransom is an NYC original, and he incorporates the city’s enigmatic appeal into his unique sound. Just as New York’s glamorous image contrasts with its gritty underbelly, Ro Ransom’s soft-spoken presentation is tempered by pointed annunciations and crisp, catchy rhythms. He says,

“I absolutely draw inspiration from my city — I think my city is the reason my music is always dark / electric at the same time. Everybody here has lived a crazy life, has crazy stories to tell. There is no normal here. New York doesn’t give a fuck about you and it’ll eat you alive. It’s beautiful in that way.”

Ro Ransom raps with a cool mellowness that belies the music’s piercing production. Like a tiger trap disguised under a bed of flowers, the seductive danger of NYC manifests on his latest release “Floetry” (ft Kensei Abbot). Listen to “Floetry” and be sure to check out Ro Ransom’s favorite NY spots below.

Mikey Likes It Ice Cream
"...I absolutely love it because it's pop culture -- the flavors are based on musicians and cultural icons. My order is (obviously) We Need A Resolution, the Aaliyah flavor. There's a crazy James Brown chocolate pumpkin flavor thing too if I remember correctly. Definitely the most swag ice cream spot." -Ro Ransom
