Nic Pool

Based out of the rugged Sonoran desert of Tucson, AZ, Nic Pool creates an ambient mix of emotional balladry and more gritty production à la early Bjork and Portishead. His debut single “The Falls” was met with critical acclaim, making it one of 2018’s best breakthrough hits. With the appeal of indie pop backed by more intriguing and darker undertones, “The Falls” made it to the top of a number of lists as well as earned remixes from DJs JD Samson and Daniel D’artiste.

Hi most recent release, “Rockets” is a heartfelt sonic plea, that contains not only an immediate emotional pull but also an incredibly dynamic arc. From its lingering beginnings to its reflective end and the wild groove in between, the track feels perfectly suited for fall’s cooling temps, even in Arizona.

Listen to “Rockets” below and read on for Nic Pool’s guide to Tucson.

Sabino Canyon Park
"Sabino Canyon park is my favorite hiking area - one of the trails Seven Falls even inspired by debut single ("The Falls") before I moved to Tucson. My wife had told me about it and just the idea of this waterfall at the end of an 8.2-mile hike through the Sonoran desert was mystical to me, and kind of served as the origin of the track's repeated hook: 'it's you and the falls.'" — Nic Pool

The Arizona Inn
"The Arizona Inn is a gorgeous historic Mission Revival Style hotel built in 1928, with pink stucco buildings, lush gardens, and a supreme outdoor pool. Another great option is Hotel Congress - right smack in downtown and it's also got a ghostly charm. Outlaw John Dillinger was captured there in 1934 after a fire started in the basement - very spooky." — Nic Pool
