Music Box Theatre
The independently owned Music Box Theatre is Chicago’s go-to venue for independent, foreign, cult, and classic films. The theatre first opened on August 22, 1929, just two months before The Great Depression and retains its original architecture and design. Seating 800 people, the theater features a dark blue ceiling made to look like the night sky, and Italian inspired design to make guests feel as if they are watching a film in an open-air Tuscan palazzo.
