FAN

FAN is the new solo project by Meric Long, guitarist and one half of the indie-rock duo The Dodos.  After over a decade with The Dodos, Long has branched out on his own to explore territory previously beyond the scope of his musical career.  Inspired by the unique pattern created by a broken fan in a restaurant bathroom, FAN layers textured rhythms over new-wave inspired, synth-born introspection and mixes things up with moments of unbridled garage-punk irreverence.

Casa Latina Bakery
"Pretty unassuming place that doubles as a bakery. They make their own tortillas, have a long breakfast menu and don't shy on the spice. Order the tacos dorados, they grill mold 2 homemade tortillas together like a Venn diagram so that they make one long taco shell, it reminds of the long forgotten Taco Bell Grande." — FAN

Claremont Canyon Regional Preserve
"Claremont Canyon - it's a really quick and steep trail up to the top of the Berkeley Hills, the whole time your back is turned to a panoramic view of the entire Bay, but when you finally get to the top out of breath and turn around, it's pretty astounding."  —  FAN
