Diana Purim & Eyedentity are made up of Brazilian singer Diana Purim and her husband Krishna. Both come from a long line of renowned musicians. Diana is the daughter of Flora Purim (often referred to as the “Queen of Brazilian Jazz”) and famed percussionist Airto Moreira. Krishna is the son of Jazz bassist, Walter Booker, nephew of Wayne Shorter and godson of Herbie Hancock. The two draw on their legendary lineage to create a blend of latin jazz, Brazilian beats and hip hop, with their latest album Many Bodies, One Mind being the most cohesive collaboration to date. The pair is now based in Los Angeles but as Diana makes clear, the world is their home:
“Though we call this city home, we are definitely of the world. Krishna’s mother is Portuguese and my parents are Brazilian. We have also traveled the world with our family and have learned to appreciate the whole planet as a home and if any inspiration is drawn, it’s from the whole world and Universe.”
