Iceland's Sigur Rós will be releasing their new album, Valtari, in a few weeks and in preparation, the band has invited fans to participate in Valtari Hour.

So what is Valtari Hour? This is a special time when you can listen to the band's new album via a local radio station, at your local record store, or through a special listening platform that the band built on their site.

NPR affiliate stations will be previewing Valtari as well as posting the full album stream on their websites. For those who choose to listen to Valtari at their local record store with fellow Sigur Rós fans, an album pre-order will score you a limited edition Valtari print, and one lucky winner in each store will receive a Valtari prize pack, which includes a Valtari vinyl test pressing, a copy of the very-sold-out RSD exclusive Hvarf/Heim LP on clear vinyl, and a custom, limited print.

FESTIVAL WATCH: Damien Rice And Others Added To Positivus Festival Lineup

Positivus Festival has announced new acts for their festival, which is set to take place in Salacgriva, Latvia on July 20-21. New acts include Damien Rice, who will be performing for his first time in the Baltics. Rice, whose last album, 9, was released in 2006, is a much-awaited performer at this festival.

Other acts include Manic Street Preachers, Wild Beeast, and French duet Housse de Racket. Already-confirmed acts include Keane, The Vaccines, Friendly Fires, King Charles, Niki and The Dove, SBTRKT and others.

LOS ANGELES, CA (May 8, 2012) – FILTER Magazine’s third annual Culture Collide Festival will return to Los Angeles this October 4-7, bringing four days of incredible music, art, film and more to Echo Park. As one of the most buzzed about festivals of the fall season, Culture Collide will welcome performances by of Montreal (US), Junip (Sweden), School of Seven Bells (US), Clinic (United Kingdom), Penguin Prison (US), Class Actress (US), John Talabot (Spain), Dean Wareham Plays Galaxie 500 (US), Breakestra (US) Tribes (United Kingdom), American Royalty (US), Moss (Netherlands), The Standards (Thailand), The Kavanaghs (Argentina), and Marit Larsen (Norway), with many more to be announced soon.

“The Culture Collide festival has always been dedicated to bringing good music from all over the world to Los Angeles, and in our third year, we’re creating something bigger and better than ever, while still keeping it affordable to attend,” said Alan Miller, co-founder and co-publisher of FILTER Magazine. “The festival really is all about introducing people to a wide range of quality music, celebrating the cultural melting pot that this city embraces, and creating an experience like no other.”

This year’s four-day festival will celebrate the convergence of cultures upon Los Angeles by welcoming artists from across the globe. Festival attendees will experience full-band live performances as well as intimate acoustic sets, film screenings, and happy hours featuring free food and drinks from around the world at a variety of venues.

City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, who represents the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles
adds, "It's great to welcome Culture Collide back to Echo Park for another year of fantastic music and fun."

The 2012 Culture Collide Festival will take place on ten unique Los Angeles stages and will wrap up with an all-day block party on Sunday, October 7th.

A limited number of Culture Collide festival wristbands are now available, priced at just $20 at Ticket Web. Wristbands have sold out the past two years, and with many more artists to be announced in the coming weeks, early wristband purchase is strongly recommended.

LOOK: Graffiti6 Extend Their First Headlining Tour

After releasing their debut album, Colours, on January 24, Graffiti6 has been on the road gaining a ton of buzz, including from such sites as Vevo and and VH1. Just last month, Graffiti6 was VH1's You Oughta Know artist.

And although the band is currently touring in support of Eric Hutchinson, they'll be embarking on their first headlining tour next month following a date at the Sasquatch Music Festival in Quincy, WA.

This headlining tour will continue through June, ending with a date at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. In July, Graffiti6 will perform at the Firefly Music Festival in Dover, DE. The tour will include support from Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna

WATCH: Imaginary Cities’ Acoustic Performance of ‘Say You’ (FILTER PREMIERE)

In anticipation of Imaginary Cities' album Temporary Resident to be released April 10, 2012, the Canadian group has filmed an acoustic performace of "Say You." The first track on their upcoming album, the video is a solid showcase of the duo's vocal compatability, soulful piano and lyrical strength. While the song may start out slow, a progression of back-up harmonies and drums builds up to a catchy, contagious song sure to stay with you long after the video ends.

INTRODUCING: The Free Keys, Tehran Rock At It’s Finest

You can't say you know of many bands from Tehran. But you can add one to your list. The Free Keys, a progressive rock band, formed in Tehran in 2007 and features Pooya Hosseini (vocals, rhythm guitar), Arash Faraamand (drums), and AK (bass).

Tehran is not like the U.S. in terms of music. Back in summer of 2007, Free Keys performed with their friends in The Yellow Dog for a few strictly forbidden underground shows. These two bands still remain as one of the few bands to get away with such an illegal thing—something they did right under their government's nose.

Free Keys released their first EP in 2008, and was made available (and free) via their Myspace page. That same year, they had planned a U.K. tour, but the Iranian Military Service laws prevented them from leaving their country. Naturally, this drove the band to hiatus.

In 2011, The Free Keys were finally able to leave Iran and moved to Brooklyn where they are finally able to perform legally.

TOUR WATCH: We Are Serenades Embark On First Headlining U.S. Tour

After a successful series of SXSW dates, Sweden's We Are Serenades are set to embark on their first headlining U.S. tour this May in support of their debut album. Criminal Heaven is set to release April 17 via Cherrytree Records and Interscope.

We Are Serenades songwriters Adam Olenius (Shout Out Louds) and Markus Krunegard (Laakso) intertwine harmonies while performing their infectious pop. This is certainly not a band to miss.

Los Angeles got a taste of The Lanskies at the last Culture Collide Festival (2011). The band recently released the music video for their latest single "Romeo." The Lanskies, a quarter Liverpool and three-quarters French, have been touring "over the pond" in promotion of the highly acclaimed single.
