LOOK: Yellow Dogs To Perform At Made In Iran Art Opening
Posted on August 9, 2012
Klerkx Art Agency and Neverheard Inc. have announced Made In Iran, an art event that will take place at Openhouse in New York on August 23-25. Made In Iran is the debut of the Iranian street artists Icy and Sot.
Icy and Sot are stencil artists who began as street artists in 2008. Since then—although both are young, with one being born in 1985 and the other 1991—they have created a fair amount of international buzz. Their work can be seen on the streets of Paris, Turin, Sao Paolo and New York.
A reception for Made In Iran will be held on August 23 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a live performance by Iranian post punk band Yellow Dogs who performed at last year's Culture Collide festival in Los Angeles.
Yellow Dogs came from the underground scene in Tehran, Iran in 2006, where their type of music was illegal. The current residents of Brooklyn, New York have not forgotten their roots, however.
Make sure you catch Made In Iran if you are in New York. And check out Yellow Dogs' video for "This City" below.
